Putting the hoods up higher would decrease the torque you put on the stem clamp.-phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03839990375976565783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455317162471408978.post-8176026937079604522008-10-30T12:23:00.000-07:002008-10-30T12:23:00.000-07:00That's pretty scarey. I always thought the function there was ergonomics, but perhaps it balances weight distribution so that the hbar doesn't inadvertently loosen. I'm not sure if its a direct result, but I definitely ride loose in the drops on descents and use my body for handling more.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455317162471408978.post-75047430641000604572008-10-03T09:54:00.000-07:002008-10-03T09:54:00.000-07:00Mark, I see more and more offroad bikes with drops...Mark, I see more and more offroad bikes with drops, usually 29er touring/trail bikes with rigid forks. The added cushion of a 29er tire may make a difference but I'd stay on the bar tops for the rough stuff. Tell us how it works.-phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03839990375976565783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8455317162471408978.post-38806451713426643192008-10-03T06:00:00.000-07:002008-10-03T06:00:00.000-07:00Never seen that before, but then again, I have nev...Never seen that before, but then again, I have never ridden off road with drops - yet.
